Leather tight against my knuckles I velcro on my nagahide racing gloves and adjust my mirrors, check my fluids and generally prepare for battle. Gripping the steering wheel, ready for battle I quickly desend the carpark and enter the jungle. GPS mounted and ready for the charge; check. Two 40 ounce mugs craddling precious Starbuck's Cafe Verona dark roast; check. My pulse slowly synchronizes with 311's song, "He's going the Distance.......he's going for speed....he's all alone, all alone in his time of need (?).' Within a few seconds I'm merging onto a jam packed freeway, single drivers in their Proton sadans jockying for position. After several painful minutes (it takes a few minutes to merge and get past the jam created by a continual stream of cars entering an already overloaded freeway) I'm in the fast lane going 100 to 140 kilometers an hour all the while continually playing a game of chicken with my fellow freeway-go'er. The rest of the drive goes farely well. ........
O.k. enough about driving in KL. Things are getting better in terms of my commute. One of my coworkers, Justin Tan, has graciously printed off Google Map directions to help me avoid the 'jams'. I'm getting to know what my job is and what I need to do from a work standpoint. From a personal, less superficial vantage point, I know God has a purpose for us here, but how is this going to be expressed? Is it with the relationships at my work? In my families interactions with our neighbors, our church and how we can serve the body of Christ, etc.? I don't know, but I am excited to find out.
