Fear Not?

I certainly hope I never meet one of these:



We just received notice that cobras (both adult and babies) have been spotted in our area of town. Thus, our condo complex has taken action by laying sulphur around its perimeter. Yesterday I marched myself down to the management office to find out just how serious this was. Apparently the cobras were spotted about 2 kilometers away and there is no need to worry. The manager actually seemed annoyed that I was asking about it. Laying the sulphur was just a precaution. But, if I remember correctly, I'm not fast enough to outrun a cobra. If I can jog 2 kilometers in just over 10 minutes, that means I could potentially have a snake knocking on my door any minute. So, tell me again, why shouldn't I be concerned?
