Random Photos .. Our Family In and Around Malaysia

I haven't posted a lot since we've returned to Malaysia.  Our time back has been somewhat uneventful.  We feel fairly comfortable getting around and the things about our new country that used to shock us, now seem normal.  My mornings are usually spent around our condo, homeschooling our kids, with a trip to the swimming pool in the afternoon.  Some may say that we lead a pretty boring life :)

However, I have managed to take a few noteworthy snapshots:

In these photos, cars are parked next to a sign that reads "No Parking, Clamping Zone, Fine RM100".  Yet, cars are parked here everyday.  In order to try to prevent parking in certain areas, orange barricades are used in addition to the 'Clamping Zone' signs .. but that hasn't deterred people either. I am still trying to learn which laws/signs are mere suggestions and which ones really need to be followed.  I actually saw a car clamped in a parking garage yesterday - so sometimes the rules are enforced.

The next photos show some amazing sunsets.  This is the view from our living room window:

The next photo shows the boys sitting on chairs that we inherited when our dear friends from New Zealand returned home.  While we are glad that they are back with their families, we miss them dearly.  Many expats, like us, stay for just 1-3 years. We believe that God has blessed us richly by allowing us to meet friends from all over the world - but saying goodbye is never easy.

Finally, I have to post a picture of our baby girl who turned 6 this week!  She is proudly showing off her new earings.

Ella, your earrings look beautiful on you. I like the E! Zeke celebrated his birthday today - he wanted a Happy Meal toy. Can you guess where we went. He also wanted to ride in a tuktuk, but there weren't any around when we tried. I can remember when you were both born and now you are six. Wow!

Ella, you are growing up sooooooo fast. Look at you wearing pierced ear rings now. Gee, I wonder what the "E" stands for? Oh, of course, Ella. How silly of Grandmother.
