Happy Birthday ....

... to our little celebrity.

Case had been in China all week, so we didn't get to celebrate on his actual birthday.  However, when we did celebrate, it was still his birthday in the U.S. .. that counts, right?

Can you believe that our neighbor made a little birthday cake for him?  People have extended so much kindness to our family.

Afterward, we headed to the aquarium in downtown KL.  I took this photo on the way to the aquarium .. to remind myself to post about grocery shopping in a Muslim country.  

Halal is the Arabic term for 'permissible' and is often used in reference to food that is permissible for Muslims to eat.  Thus, you can guess what non-halal means.  A couple non-halal items include pork products and alcohol.  Non-halal items are often housed together with the liquor in a remote section of the grocery store.  I am so glad that one of Case's co-workers showed us around the grocery store, because I would have assumed that the only kind of bacon available was beef bacon .. which is not good.
